FORMAT / RULES
Sprint Orienteering
Despite the name sprinting is not essential! This form of orienteering involves short courses of 2-3kms in urban terrain. Orienteering Australia has produced a comprehensive guide to Sprint Orienteering at OA_Guide_5_Sprint.pdf (orienteering.asn.au)
No previous orienteering experience is required, as volunteers will help to get you started. The navigation level is EASY, and no special equipment is needed. Shorts, t-shirt and joggers are the recommended clothing. Orienteering WA will provide the course map and a timing chip.
Orienteering WA especially welcomes teachers who have, or are interested in, participation in the Sporting Schools Orienteering program.
