INTERSTATE BASKETBALL

The School Sport Australia Interstate Basketball  Championships are a Combined Championship with boys and girls 12s and 16s teams.

Open trials will be held for all teams, with regular selections occurring throughout trials and training.

Athletes who are in the Basketball WA Under 13 Future Development Program (FDP), and  have completed the required SSWA nomination process,  are not required to attend the initial 12s trial date.

Please be advised that if selected:

The total cost of the Championship is estimated at $1000 (this does not include any flights or accommodation), less fund raising.

Travel Model
The School Sport WA preferred travel model is for students to travel and accommodate with their parent/guardian.  Flights have been booked for team officials and their flight information will be provided at the parent information meeting.

Any variation to this model will be communicated at the initial trial

12s Trial – Boys and Girls South
Wednesday 5 March at Bendat Basketball Centre
11:30am registration, 12.00pm – 2.00pm trials

16s Trial – Boys North
Wednesday 12 March at Bendat Basketball Centre
8:30am registration, 9:00am – 11:00am trials

16s Trial – Boys South and Girls North & South
Wednesday 12 March at Bendat Basketball Centre
12:00pm registration, 12.30pm – 2:30pm trials

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for selection students must:

• Be a full time student at a  recognised DoE educational institution.
• 16 Years and Under – be 16 and under as at 31 December in the year of competition.
• 12 Years and Under – turn 11 or 12 years of age in the year of competition. 

All SSWA teams are selected on merit according to the published selection process for that team or sport.
