The Secondary Schools Triathlon Champion Schools Event is conducted by School Sport WA, in partnership with Triathlon WA. There are individual and team events.
Draft Legal Races
Athletes competing in the Draft Legal event must have a draft legal endorsement and have an approved road racing bike as per Triathlon Australia Racing Rules, please see section 3.15 on the following link.
To get a DLE athletes must have their bike skills assessed by an AusTri accredited Performance coach (or above) to ensure they are safe to ride in close quarters, and also be a Triathlon WA member.
– Wheels must have at least 12 spokes
– Disc wheels are not permitted
– Only traditional drop handlebars are permitted (and must be plugged)
– Clip-on bars are not permitted

2026 Nomination Process
Individuals
Individuals are to nominate via the “INDIVIDUAL” tab and pay at the time of registration
Schools
All schools MUST complete the nomination form via the “SCHOOL” button.
Schools may nominate their students manually via the “INDIVIDUAL” tab and pay at the time of registration
OR
Schools may download the current Team List Template (old versions will not be accepted) and a Registration Link and Login details will be emailed to schools to upload your Team List upon request via the form through the SCHOOL nomination tab.

Schools are required to bring along a thick waterproof marking pen to mark the competitors, with their number. Please mark numbers be on both arms and the front of the right thigh/shin depending upon student race wear.

Teams will be Male or Female and based on enrolled school year.
If mixed gender they will be entered in the Male Team Category.
Mixed years’ teams will race in the oldest student’s year: Year 7  Year 8  Year 9  Year 10  Year 11+         Â

Timing Bands
Teachers and individual athletes should collect their team’s timing bands from the registration desk on arrival at the venue. These are allocated by number to each competitor, please make sure the competitor has the correct number timing band.
