Background
In 2024 School Sport WA will run the David Bell Cup competition (years 7-12) and the middle school Ross Meadows Shield competition (mixed years 7-9). Both competitions are open to all Government and Non-Government Schools. Both Carnivals are one day round robin events followed by a finals day.
The David Bell Cup teams are single gender, boys only.
The Ross Meadows Shield teams can be mixed.

Cost
$270 per team for one day carnival round robin (dependent on numbers)
Payment can be on nomination or SSWA will invoice schools.Â
A late withdrawal (within 2 weeks of the event) fee of up to 100% may be charged.Â
Venues
Perth Hockey Stadium, UWA Superturf and Lemnos Field (Shenton College Turf)
Umpires
Schools are required to bring a competent umpire to officiate on the round robin day. Umpires will be provided for the Grand Final Day.
First Aid
Schools should bring their own first aid kits. Ice is provided.

DAVID BELL CUP
Format
The David Bell Cup is a one day Round Robin event in June, followed by a Semi Final Day in July and then the Grand Final Day in August.

Dependent on nominating numbers there may be a separate day for NoR schools and another for SoR schools.Â
The winning teams from the one day competition, SHS Country Week Carnival, the ACC and the PSA competition will be invited to participate in the semi-final day. The top two teams from the semi-final day will compete for the David Bell Cup Final.

ROSS MEADOWS SHIELD
The Ross Meadows Shield is a one-day round robin competition, open to all Government and Non-Government schools.
The top teams from the one day round robin will compete in the Finals Day.
Teams are restricted to students in years 7-9.
Teams can be of single (male or female) or mixed gender to encourage independent schools to participate.
Schools are requested to bring their own umpire, preferably a senior student.

*$270 per team. Subject to change dependent on nomination numbers.
